| Frank Martin Highlights Alpha Lambda Speaker Series: Fall Semester 2009 |

Frank Martin, Kansas State University Men’s Head Basketball Coach, spoke to the men of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity at formal dinner on October 7, 2009 as part of the Alpha Lambda Speakers Series. A native of Miami, Fla., Martin, 43, earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education from Florida International in 1993. Martin was hired as the 23rd head men’s basketball coach on April 9, 2007 after spending one season as the top assistant and recruiting coordinator. In his duties as recruiting coordinator, Martin helped Kansas State pull in one of the nation’s best recruiting classes in 2006. In 2008, he headed a staff that pulled down the school’s second top-20 class in the past three seasons. Frank Martin begins his third year at the helm of the Kansas State program looking to build on an already sound foundation with an overall record of 72-32. Martin spoke about the importance of attendance at home basketball games and how Kansas State definitely has the best fans in the country. He also gave the chapter a look at how recruitment works. Martin finished by opening the floor for questions from the Tekes. The Alpha Lambda Speaker Series features two prominent campus/community leaders invited each semester to address the men of Tau Kappa Epsilon at formal dinner. Mary Todd, Director/Advocacy of the K-State Women’s Center also spoke to the Tekes at formal dinner on November 11, 2009. The K-State Women’s Center promotes a safe and equitable environment for all through advocacy, presentations, academic classes, and training.
