Tekes To Sponsor Powder Puff Football & Give-Away To Benefit Alzheimer's Association

The Alpha Lambda chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity at Kansas State University will sponsor Teke Powder Puff Football, a sorority flag football tournament and Kansas State Greek tradition for almost forty years!  In addition, the Tekes will sponsor the first annual Teke ‘Give-Away’, a gift certificate drawing. The proceeds from both Teke events will benefit Alzheimer’s Association Ronald and Nancy Reagan Alzheimer’s Research Institute.

Teke Powder Puff Football ‘pool play’ will begin on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the K-State Recreational Services' playfields. The top four finishers will advance to the tournament semi-finals and finals on Sunday, November 8, 2009 beginning at 10:00 AM at the K-State Recreational Services' playfields.  All K-State students are invited to attend!

The Teke ‘Give-Away’ is a drawing for the chance to win $75 gift certificates from Varney’s Book Store, or $50 gift certificates from Kite’s Grille & Bar. A $5 donation is requested for each chance to win.  A drawing for the gift certificates will be held on Friday, November 20, 2009.  Winners will be contacted by phone and the winner does need to be present to win.  ‘Give-Away’ tickets will be sold by Teke members beginning November 1, 2009.  Watch for the Alzheimer’s Association/Powder Puff Football/Give-Away table at the K-State Union.

The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research with national office in Chicago, IL.  In 1995 the Alzheimer’s Association established the Ronald and Nancy Reagan Research Institute.  In 2004 the Alzheimer’s Association joined the world in mourning the loss of Teke alum President Ronald Reagan 10 years after announcing his Alzheimer diagnosis.
