The Alpha Lambda Educational Foundation (ALEF) is a tax exempt 501 (c)(3) organization based in Concordia, Kansas and incorporated on September 27, 1991 to support and serve the academic interests of Tau Kappa Epsilon and Kansas State University within IRS guidelines. Contributions made to ALEF are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. ALEF is governed by a Board of Directors, including Executive Committee, consisting of 24 Alpha Lambda alumni from across the nation. ALEF holds an annual fall meeting in Manhattan to conduct business in conjunction with other organizations supporting the Alpha Lambda chapter. ALEF conducts the following activities supporting its stated purpose: unrestricted financial support to the Kansas State University Foundation (general academic scholarship fund); restricted financial support to Kansas State University Foundation endowed scholarships (Caldwell, Duff, Edwards, Harbaugh, Heyka) (defined academic scholarship funds); capital support to fund construction, furnishing and equipping of Kansas State University student organization space used solely and strictly for educational purposes; operating support to fund operating and maintenance expenditures of Kansas State University student organization space (i.e. computer lab, group study area) used solely and strictly for educational purposes.
