He is recently retired from Kansas State University as an Emeritus Professor in the college of Architecture, Planning and Design. Koester, Nathan: Pledge Class '03, #1390 KSU '07. Ghormley, Harold: Frater Harold E. Ghormley, #486 KSU '58, 74 of Partridge, Kansas passed away on November 10, 2009. Frater Ghormley was born May 4, 1935 in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was a graduate of the College of Agriculture at Kansas State University. He was a farmer in the Partridge community. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include his brother Frater David Ghormley, #521 KSU '64. Kilbourn, Robert: Frater Robert N. Kilbourn, #342 KSU '53, 78 of Glen Haven, Colorado passed away on Friday, September 18, 2009. Frater Kilbourn was born July 31, 1931 and raised on Kilbourn Ranch near Sterling, Kansas. He graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Geology. He served as an officer in the U.S. Army, spent 25 years farming and ranching, and became a R.N. at the age of 50. He was an avid sports fan, devotedly following KSU athletics. Pearce,Jared: Frater Jared C. Pearce, #1243 KSU ’01, 31 of Guthrie, Oklahoma passed away on August 14, 2009. Frater Pearce was born October 4, 1977 in Evansville, Indiana. He was a 2001 graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences at Kansas State University. He taught 8th grade science and coached football, wrestling and track at Guthrie Middle School. Smythe, Patrick: Frater Patrick Edward Smythe, #358 KSU '58, 79 of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on Friday, August 7, 2009. Frater Smythe epitomized the 'Fraternity for Life' through his life long association with the 'Purple Tekes', a group of '50s era Alpha Lambda alums. Frater Bill Sauder, #311 writes, "I did attend Pat Smythe's funeral Services on Wednesday of this week with my wife and two daughters. While the family did not want flowers, our Purple TKE group of Starns, Gehlbach, Luthi's widow, Dr. Harold Hay and Sauder's family provided a nice Red Carnation arrangement near the front by the casket which marked his identity as a Teke. That fraternity was very important to Pat." Obituary Relihan, David: Frater David Dale Relihan, #295 KSU '49, 88 of Chapman, Kansas passed away on August 7, 2009. Frater Relihan was born October 1, 1920 in Lebanon, Kansas. He received a Bachelor of Science degreee in Education in 1949 and earned a Master's Degree in 1954, both from Kansas State University. He taught for 34 years at Chapman High School, where he served as the Principal. In 1996, he was elected to the Kansas Teachers Hall of Fame.
